Festivals be it Indian or International & National days are symbols of social togetherness. We, PRAYASm Charitable Trust, celebrate many festivals and days differently. Generating awareness among others is always the foundation of our celebration. We aim to make people realise the importance of the day.
Every year, we organize a MEGA EVENT during DIWALI Festival – “DIWALI With PRAYASm”. We distribute food packets containing sweets (Sukhadi by TRIMANDIR, Adalaj). We install donation boxes at different places so people can voluntarily donate good condition old clothes, toys and other things. We distribute it to the Chawl areas of Gandhinagar & Ahmedabad. We give notebooks and pencil sets along with sweets to special children in orphanages. We educate children about the importance of the festival of Diwali. We also celebrate the festival at orphanages and old age homes and distribute crackers and light the lamps. During COVID-19 Lockdown we distributed more than 80 ration kits with the help of Shreeji Builders.
We celebrate Uttarayan with kites & sweets distribution. We celebrate Raksha Bandhan at orphanages and old age homes where female volunteers tie them rakhi and give roses to the old people. We arrange interactive educational sessions for children at events.
During Navratri we invite them to Ahmedabad for Garba Celebration. They enjoyed Garba with medical association MEGMA. Health secretary was the chief guest at the event. We also help them to organize garba celebrations at their children home for deaf and mute children by contributing gifts for prize distribution and snacks.
For 15th August and 26th January celebrations we carry out flag hosting, cut the cake and educate the children about the importance of those special days. During COVID-19 Lockdown on 15th August we had organized special live sessions with Miss Radha Mehta (Famous Motivational Speaker) on our Instagram handle remembering our brave soldiers.
We hosted a Birthday Celebration of children from Special Children Home Sector 17 & Sector 19 Gandhinagarfollowed by cake cutting. Many Volunteers celebrate their birthday at orphanages and old age homes with cake cutting and distribution of chocolates and snacks.

We will include Constructive activities in the celebration of DIWALI MEGA EVENT. More celebration events with specially-abled and mentally challenged children.
