Social well being plays a key role to lead a healthy and respectable life. Elevating the poor and providing them basic amenities to survive in life is our first priority in this regard.
We believe that social elevation is achievable through two ways.
One way is to help them by providing food packets, ration kits, toys, clothes etc. We provide sweets and food packets to needy people mostly during festivals and also on volunteer’s birthday. DIWALI MEGA EVENT is about distributing essential goods to the needy one. We distribute Notebooks and Pencil boxes to orphans and special children, every New Year. During November, December and January there is extreme cold weather during night. So PRAYASm Charitable Trust forms a group of 5 to 10 volunteers that distribute blankets and quills to the poor homeless people during the night time and also to anyone needy found in civil hospital, Gandhinagar. We give priority to people with children. We distribute blankets and sweaters, Hand gloves, woollen caps and woollen socks to the children below 5 years. We distribute sweaters to children above the 5 years of age. We collect old good clothes, toys and other things from people who want to donate and distribute it to the needy.. During COVID-19 Pandemic lockdown we distributed more than 80 ration kits and150 plus blankets to needy people.
Another way is to make them self-sufficient by providing direct employment for daily earning. We are in process to formulate the infrastructure for it to provide secure wellbeing.
Education is essential to cause change in the society. We will give them basic training to get employment.A School and Library is the primary place to get the required environment for giving proper education to the children so they can secure their future.
All year clothes distribution with “PRAYASm NI DIWAL” (wall of help) initiative, where people can simply hang the clothes they are willing to donate, which later could be picked up by someone in need. We are planning to install at least 10 such DIWALS (walls) in the next 2 years.
Daily food stalls and self help groups (including farmer producer organizations) will be started to give employment to the needy prioritizing women.
